Circuit Scarecrow
Circuit Scarecrow will fuck with you. Since 2002 they have been recklessly praised and simply absurd to diagnose. I love to watch people attempt to bob their heads to some recognizable rhythm only to be utterly decapitated. Fools. Take refuge in the radio if you need safety. Hip-hop? Electronics? Go shit yourself. The assault has been rumored to be attached to such devices as the sp808, rm1x, qs7.1, v-synth etc yeah, whatever the hell that all means. The death squads are on the way for revealing this. And they will still fuck with you. This intense duo creates the noise which compromises for no scene. Don't let the three-foot difference in height intimidate you. The elements amenable of this space are contained in madness and sick aptitude. The squads are here. You are dead.
Snares and Escapism was recorded in the summer of 2003 by Circuit Scarecrow.

Piano Drag back to top
Since 2000 this multifarious rock unit have diligently created an atmosphere worth being a part of. Piano Drag are not only recognized as the band that makes the toughest, snobbiest, and stiffest spine shake the nearest thing that slightly resembles a rump, but finally have the recording that captures the experience. There will be no guilt-trips behind their mechanical podium. Only a hailstorm of rhythmic eruptions and the toying of electronics that accompany a balanced havoc. Musically, they pull off anything they want to be: dark, sexy, emotive, and explosive. But always spilling out the rawness, keeping the energy unending. Maintaining a great distance from the plethora of trendy vomit, Piano Drag cater important soul-rooted resounds you'd gladly swallow.
Piano Drag's Possessions & Positons CD was recorded and mixed in 2002 by themselves and was co-released on 11-03 with our good friends at One Cell Records.

Dogs Of Ire back to top
DOGS OF IRE somehow manage to exist deep in the septic valley of nauseous strip mall mentality. No, not New Jersey. Riverside, CA. And they don't need your pity. They need your rain. To cleanse their baneful clouds so that monster trucks with giant, rippling stars and stripes don't run them over on the band's way to their storage unit where they argue, feel slightly human, and plug in their noise. These non-tanning booth fuckfaces have been stinking up basements since sometime between the EZLN's caravan to Mexico City, and hipsters wrapping scarves around their precious necks in 80-degree weather. If the guitar player on your right side has enough white hair to make you believe he's fifty years old, think again buddy. He's Fifty-five. Please don't make him drive it. Buy him a warm draft and he'll teach you Tai Chi. If the sunset is splendid.
Dogs of Ire's Reach for the Burning was recorded in March of 2001.

Rogue State back to top
Ascending out of the never-ending mass of musical staleness, otherwise known as hardcore, is Rogue State. And what a fucking relief. These cats are incredible and will keep you inspired and addicted from the opening screams. Their sound is urgent, powerful, clever and catastrophic. And dare I say, melodic? Fuck it. They make it work all too well. Named after Williams Blum's magnum opus, Rogue State drop more notes per measure than the US drop bombs per third world civilian. Well, almost. Known to have shared (and still share) life with Dysentery, Pretty Mess and Dogs of Ire. They are not youngsters. They are animals. Feed them and learn.
Rogue State are in the process of recording their full length. Looks to be out 2004. They think.

Death to Tyrants back to top
This New Hampshire based four-piece frantically resonate the kind of beautiful and sapid hooks that make one drop out of math class and into a dark room to think. Then, real eloquent like, they pillage all senses with their driving rock. Then they are subtle and harmonic. Then, somehow, find a way to detonate their ill-timed-thrash keeping ears forever unripe. Damn amazing. Most of all, they have plenty of fun with their art. Vocals? I almost forgot about them. Because there are none. Throw your calculators into the fire. This kinetic agglomeration is meant to be felt and acted upon. Death to Tyrants have been sharing their instruments since 2002 and will move anyone lucky enough to witness their work.
Death to Tyrants recorded thier tracks at Dead Air Studios with Will Killingsworth. Their release is scheduled to come out the summer of 2004. Will has also shared life with awesome bands: Orchid and Bucket Full of Teeth.

Dohrn back to top
Save your yawning muscles for the Warp Tour. Is that humanly possible? Take comfort, DOHRN would never know either. Their line of work involves destroying all who dare bear witness to their creative, blistering thrash encroachment. Let there be no safe haven for the non-threatening, well-rehearsed chorus's of today's masses draped in all black yet no attack. In memory of the Weather Undergrounder, Bernadine Dohrn, their sound is reminiscent of
just imagine you are Mr. Kissinger bouncing all high and mighty through the Capital Building. Naturally, your head would be consumed by evil, greedy thoughts and scumbag agendas. You're laughing and dancing all the way to the bank because you got away with murder. All of the sudd..BBOOOOOMMM!!! You've been blown up by the forces of DOHRN. Either way, this Bloomington, CA party will level you for damn sure.
DOHRN recorded and mastered all tracks with Mr. Pete Mattern.

Jesus Makes The Shotgun Sound back to top
Get up off your knees. It's real blood. This five piece collectively lash and pummel on all comfortable rock expectations. Dirty, dark, and unforgiving, JESUS MAKES THE SHOTGUN SOUND give a brown-powered kick to the fostered, dreary redundancies that plague the rest of us digesting this godforsaken word salad. If you're looking for meatheads flexing some other culture's tribal tattoos, don't waste their time (this was written before we found out that their newly acquired bass player has a nasty shirtless-before-the-first-song habit). JESUS MAKES THE SHOTGUN SOUND expounds piercing disgust and wit by way of frantic vocals, chaotic guitars, and energetic breakdown after breakdown. Lord have mercy.
JMTSS recorded and mastered their tracks with Mr. Pete X in one day. No really, 3 days. Okay, 5.

Marc Antony back to top
If you are despondent over the endless disconnection between bands and social consciousness, you're in serious luck baby. MARC ANTONY = the real fucking deal. This awesome Bay Area three-piece brilliantly rekindles the dwindling spirit of resistance music with their epochal mathematical thrash, grueling vocals, and charismatic contempt for the commoditized. Their fusion of hardcore, jazz, and ass-naked performances will clown every self-serving hipster into a permanent mental breakdown and possible wardrobe malfunction. Fact: MARC ANTONY is one of the few to ever drive the Alaskan Highway (both ways) just to share their contagious energy and sound with the wildlife. Rumor: They are ex-BRUTE MEDIUM. Fact: Vegan violence in full-effect.
MARC ANTONY recorded their split 7 tracks with Jack Shirley (COMADRE) in San Carlos, CA.
